Meet the Kids Behind the Prints

Hope on Wheels and National Youth Ambassador Sammy Heim are pleased to welcome six new friends into the Hope on Wheels family. Michael, Samantha, Joseph, Austin, Frances and Christopher have been selected as the 2009 Regional Youth Ambassadors to help Hope on Wheels raise awareness for the need to fund pediatric cancer research.

The other children featured in this section have all been friends to Hope on Wheels by serving as past Youth Ambassadors or lending their handprints to the Hope on Wheels Santa Fe. This special edition vehicle can be seen at Hope on Wheels Tour events across the country.

All of the children featured on this page have battled pediatric cancer. Some of them have won their battles, but some others have tragically lost. These children don't view themselves as warriors, fighters or heroes – they're soccer players and ballerinas, artists and actors. They love school and hate broccoli. They're a lot like every other kid you know, but their bravery inspires so many. Get to know the children behind these smiles as many of them tell their stories in their own words.
