Hope on Wheels Medical Advisory Committee
The Hope on Wheels Medical Advisory Board is made up of leaders in cancer research treatment, including Dr. Leonard Sender (Children’s Hospital of Orange County), Dr. David Poplack (Texas Children’s Cancer Center) and Dr. Dan Wechsler (Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center), and has provided essential guidance in the establishment of Hyundai Hope on Wheels and the Hyundai Scholars program.

Dr. David G. PoplackDr. David G. Poplack
David G. Poplack, M.D., has served as Director of Texas Children’s Cancer Center since 1993. He holds the Elise C. Young Chair of Pediatric Oncology and is Chief of the Hematology-Oncology Service in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also the Deputy Director of the Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine, an NCI-designated Cancer Center. View complete story>




Dr. Leonard SenderDr. Leonard Sender
Dr. Leonard Sender is Medical Director of the CHOC Cancer Institute and Division Chief of Pediatric Oncology for Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange, California. Furthermore, he is Director of the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Programs at CHOC Children’s Hospital and at UC Irvine Medical Center’s Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Adolescent patients (up to age 21) of the combined multi-institutional program are seen at CHOC and the young adult patients (up to age 39) are seen at UC Irvine. View complete story>


Lisa Diller, M.D.Lisa Diller, M.D.
Dr. Lisa Diller is the Chief Medical Officer, Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Care. As a pediatric oncologist and the Clinical Director of Pediatric Oncology, she leads the joint clinical Pediatric Oncology Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital Boston. She is also the Director of the Perini Family Survivors’ Center and the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic for Cancer Survivors at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Dan WechslerDr. Dan Wechsler
Dan Wechsler, MD, PhD has been an academic Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist for the past twenty years. Originally from Montreal, Canada, he received his Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and his Medical and Doctoral degrees from McGill University. After completing his Pediatric Residency Training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1990, he undertook a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins from 1990-1994. View complete story>
