Mickey Pong is the owner of North County Hyundai of Carlsbad. After Graduating from Ohio State in 1983, the only job he has ever held has been in the Automotive Business. He started off as a sales person and slowly climbed the corporate ladder.

Mickey recalls fending off questions from his family, “When are you going to get a real job?”

He was given the opportunity into becoming a partner at Santa Margarita Ford, a Dealership that he worked at for 20 years and still maintains his ownership today.

The highlight of his career came in 2006, when Mickey was given the opportunity to purchase his Hyundai Franchise in Carlsbad. Mickey claims “it’s the only Hyundai store with an Ocean View!” He was honored to be invited to serve on the Board of Directors for “Hyundai Hope on Wheels” and truly enjoys giving back to this worthwhile cause.

Mickey believes the “True Hero’s” in this fight with cancer are the Children, their Families and the Support Staff. Mickey has had firsthand experience with pediatric cancer when a family friend and an employee of his was diagnosed with glioblastoma (a tumor in the brain). Unfortunately he lost his battle with the disease.

Mickey is honored to help with his small part with “Hope on Wheels” and joining their mission to eliminate pediatric cancer.
