Amaya - Norfolk
After a visit to Amaya's doctor and a referral to see a neurosurgeon, Amaya was admitted to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. She was taken in for a CT scan and remained at the hospital for three weeks.

Amaya's diagnosis was an inoperable brain tumor. Her condition is referred to as a low-grade astrocytoma. It also appears that Amaya's brain is not telling her body to keep the sodium that it takes in, so we are faced with her having "salt wasting" issues. She had a shunt put in to relieve the fluid in her head. After weeks of waiting for the results from many experts, they decided she has stage I cancer.

Amaya receives two chemotherapy drugs every week and is monitored through blood work weekly.
