My name is Garrison, I am 9 years old and attend Canyon Creek Elementary School. I live in Aurora, Colorado with my mom, Chris, and dad, Kori. I like bike riding, skiing, soccer, basketball, karate and tetherball.
I was first diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) in my left leg above my knee in February 2005. I had to undergo a special lower extremity amputation called Van Ness Rotationplasty and my last treatment was October 31, 2005.
Every kid like me fighting cancer needs hope. Raising money for cancer research gives hope for a cure. I want to help teach people that kids get cancer too and we need money to help fight all the different types of cancer. Kids shouldn’t be sick in a hospital with fevers and other side effects from chemotherapy; they should be out playing and growing up. All kids are fighters and we will fight as long as we have to so we can be healthy again. I want to tell everyone I know that we need to find a cure and we need their help and support to do it.
