Isaiah was born May 28, 2001, on Memorial Day. He was a very happy and healthy boy. However, on May 5, 2003, our 13th wedding anniversary, we found out he had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia after seeing the doctor for bruising and fatigue.
He went through two years and three months of chemo when a routine spinal tap in August 2005 showed abnormal cells, later identified as leukemic, called CNS, or Central Nervous System, Relapse. He would have been finished with his treatment that October. We were then looking at two more years of much higher doses of chemo, including radiation during weeks 50-52 of treatment.
Isaiah has remained happy and energetic throughout his treatments. He loves Hot Wheels, construction and superheroes! He just loves "fun" and is our entertainer!
We love all of the doctors and nurses at the Aflac Cancer Clinic at Egleston. They are like family to us, and they love Isaiah as much as we do. We truly believe that the Lord has healed him and this is just a road we must travel on the way.
