Michael, 10, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone, at age eight and was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is in the fourth grade and enjoys playing video and computer games, reading comic books and watching sports. Michael is thankful to God and the doctors and nurses at Johns Hopkins for removing his tumor. During the 12-hour surgery, the doctors were forced to remove his knee as well, but Michael is now in rehab for his new leg and walking, climbing and dancing. To all of the other children battling cancer, Michael would tell them, “everyone who gets cancer does not die from cancer, just know that prayer works.”
